Eternity

From across the void I travel
Oh how has time spread it's wings
Distant are the footsteps of the past
Silence has become my unwitting partner
How will I ever know your touch again?
Have I forgotten how you feel?
Does the fragrance of your life elude me?
Do I stand a chance to hear the soft whisper of your voice?
Languishing through the stars I hear the faint melody
Just over the next horizon I may find you
A little farther and someday this journey will end
On the wings of despair I persevere
Driven by forces tugging on my very soul
Anguished and torn I continue this plight
An eternity I have searched
For an eternity I have loved
For an eternity I will continue on
For an eternity my love shall never wain
I will find you my love, in this eternity.

I love this poem but, I have to wonder how your wife feels about you searching for another woman? Tell her I said hello!

You've been tagged to write 7 random things about yourself, if you like. My 7 are posted at www.shadesofmj.blogspot.com if you would like to take a look. If you participate, please link back to Poefiti. Thanks!

Have a nice night.

Side note- I have new words up for Friday 5 and another Monday Mural and one other poetic form if you are interested in stopping by.

sThanks Michelle! I've been away from the blog for a little while, life caught up again! :-)

The poem is more of a true love lost and the agonizing despair of searching to regain. Think of it this way, if your true love went to sea and never came back, and word never came as to what the fate of your loved one was, wouldn't you search for an eternity to find your true love again?

This poem actually ties in with the novel I'm writing and what happens to two of the characters in it.

Thanks for commenting and I hope to get back in the groove real soon. :-)
