Softly We Met

Softly we met with a kiss,
Dreams of two become one,
Separate paths no longer apart,
Glowing warmth from an internal sun.

Softly we met with our eyes,
Golden glory flowing through,
Piercing blues mirror the soul,
Soft alabaster tender and smooth.

Softly we met with a touch,
Embarking on a timeless quest,
Travelers of uncharted waters,
Coming to rest in a humble nest.

how romantic. I like your use of "softly we met" - it works really well in the piece.

I hope you give this poem to your bride of 19 years, whom you mention in your sidebar. The rhyme and the gently changing refrain are very delicate.

I love the way you have blended in 'softly we...' to write a tender love poem.

I am so glad to see you writing again. And, what a beautiful comeback. This was beautiful. I, too, would like to see you give this to your wife tomorrow. I think she would enjoy this very much. Have a nice night. Happy Valentine's Day~
